Sean DoolanSean J. Doolan, Esq.
Sean is the lead litigation attorney in the firm. He is primarily responsible for nursing home cases, select criminal matters, and other civil matters.

Sean is married with a teenage son and resides in Ashland, New York. Sean and his family moved from Bronx County, New York to the mountain top in 1998 after having visited the area for years.

Sean graduated from Pace University School of Law in 1994. He started his career as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County prosecuting white-collar crimes. He later worked as a DWI Prosecutor in Greene County. He has also worked for an insurance defense firm defending personal injury claims. Sean is of Counsel on select nursing home matters to the Law Offices of Martin, Harding, & Mazzotti, LLP of Troy-Schenectady Road in Albany, NY; Fellows, Hymowitz, and Epstein, LLC in Rockland County, NY; and Ferro, Kuba, Mangano, Skylar in New York City. These relationships permit Sean to handle nursing home cases in most counties throughout New York State.

Sean has recently been honored to co-author (along with Monica Agosto, Esq.) a chapter on litigation strategies in the book, Nursing Home Litigation:Investigation and Case Preparation, 2nd Edition, published by Lawyers & Judges Publishing Company. Sean and Monica also co-authored a chapter and revised a second chapter in another book for the Lawyers & Judges Publishing Company, Nursing Malpractice, 3d Ed.

Sean has also been guest lecturer at numerous Nursing Home/Assisted Living Litigation and Negligence seminars. Some of the organizations that he lectured for include: American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants (AALNC), Lorman Education Services, Professional Education Systems Institute, LLC (PESI), Greene County Department of the Aging, New York State Bar Association, Rockland County Bar Association, and the Albany County Bar Association. Sean is a member of the Greene County Bar Association, Albany County Bar Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association and the American Association for Justice (formerly known as the American Trial Lawyers Association). He is also a member of the Nursing Home Group of the American Association of Justice and a New York based nursing home litigation group of plaintiff attorneys.

Sean is an active member of his community and volunteers his time as a legal adviser and board member to the Catskill Boxing Gym.

Monica Agosto, Esq.
Monica Agosto,Esq.Monica is the lead real estate attorney in the firm.  She is also primarily responsible for routine Justice Court matters, Estate matters, and Wills.  Monica also continues to work closely with Sean on the nursing home matters and other civil litigation matters. 

Monica lives in Catskill and has a teenage son and teenage daughter.  Monica was born in Tannersville and graduated from Hunter-Tannersville High School.  Monica has been an active Board Member and volunteer of Catskill Babe Ruth League for the past two (2) years, acting as interim President and Secretary.
 
Monica graduated from Albany Law School in 2005 and joined the firm as an associate after passing the bar exam in July 2005.  Monica worked in the firm as a civil litigation paralegal since May 2000 until her admission to the bar.  Monica started her legal career earning her paralegal certificate from Marist College in 1999, and continued with her education at the State University at Albany, graduating summa cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in criminal justice. Upon graduation, Monica was the recipient of the Donald Neuman Award for Academic Achievement. 

Monica was honored to co-author (along with Sean Doolan) a chapter on litigation strategies in the book, Nursing Home Litigation: Investigation and Case Preparation, 2nd Edition, published by Lawyers & Judges Publishing Company. Monica and Sean also were contributing authors of a chapter and revised another chapter in Nursing Malpractice, 3rd Ed., purblished by Lawyers & Judges Publishing Company.  Both books are available for purchase at this time.

Stacey A. Koeppel

Stacy Koeppel
Stacey joined our staff in April 2005 as an administrative/legal assistant and has been promoted to paralegal. She grew up in West Babylon, Long Island, where she attended Katharine Gibbs School in Melville. While attending Katharine Gibbs, she received many awards including Gold Key awards for her volunteer time in tutoring other students, and was on the school’s President’s List for the entire duration. She graduated in the top of her class with a 4.0 average, and received a certificate in their Legal Executive Assistant program. She worked at a general practice firm on Long Island for two years before she decided to make the big move to the country. Stacey has continued her education and has joined the firm as a Paralegal, working mainly with Mr. Doolan on the firm’s nursing home litigation cases. Stacey recently became a member of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA).

Sharon KnudsenSharon Knudson

Sharon joined our staff in September 2006 as a bookkeeping and accounts receivable clerk. Her role has now expanded to assistant in the real estate practice.  She grew up in New Jersey and lived overseas in Denmark before moving to the mountain top with her husband and two children. 

Sharon is a graduate of the University of Delaware and did an internship in Child Life Therapy at the Johns Hopkins Medical Center.  She has had a 15 year career working with children and adults with special needs before entering this new profession.

We are glad to have Sharon in our firm.

Rose Marie brings over thirty years of nursing experience to our team, including eight years of dedicated legal nurse consulting.  In 2006, Rose Marie started Legal Nurse Consulting Solutions based in Tampa, Florida in order to serve law firms across the country.  From records sorting and review, to case analysis and medical summaries, Rose Marie and her team of legal nurse consultants help us save valuable time and money, while their detailed and concise work product helps us frame the medicine in a context that helps us win cases.  Rose Marie earned her undergraduate degree in nursing with major emphasis in neurological and neurosurgical nursing.  She also carries as Master of Science degree in management.
